proper way to tight NSA rr's?
proper way to tight NSA rr's?
I understand what zero lash is and most people turn about 1/4 to 1/2 a turn past that to tighten the rockers. or even leave the valve covers off and tighten them with the motor running until they stop making a lot of clacking.
however, i was reading my LT1 rebuild book (for kicks i guess...) and it was saying that with roller rockers (like those that the LT4 used) that you want to tighten them at 18 ft/lbs. obviously you would leave the crank in one position, tighten intake and exhaust on certain cylinders (theyre specified) and then rotate the crank one full revolution and tighten the intake and exhaust of the remaining appropriate cylinders all to 18 ft/lbs. what are some recommendations for tightening my 1.6 pro mags? thanks.

The torque setting is only for OEM LT4 engines that had different rocker studs and rockers.
LT1 and anything other than the OEM LT4 engines use the lash procedure you are already familiar with. Same with the Pro Mags.
