Mine at idle is around 17-20psi and under load it's anywhere between 25-42psi.

Mine is over 70psi when first started. Then drops to about 50psi when the motor is warm, but as soon as I go wot the pressure is over 70psi. Running 5-30. I think mine is high though.

Are you running HV oil pump?

you want at least 20psi on a sbc or lt1 when engine is completly warmed up. ls1 will run about 40psi due to disign.

That's plenty. Minimum GM spec is 6 psi at idle for an LT1. Any lower than that and the check gauges light will come on.

I have not changed the pump myself, but I bought the car used and the oil pan is beat up on the bottom. I never removed the pan so I don't know if the pump is stock. Every thing was stock on the car though and it only had 50,000 on the clock. The owner said nothing was done to it, but I think the oil pump was upgraded. I even blew out the oil sending unit once and was dumping oil out the back of my car and onto my bumper, I thought the main seal was out but was glad to find that my oil sending unit was the problem. The oil gauge is close to pegged when first started, so it can't be a stock pump can it?

Sounds like an HV pump. Your oil pressure sounds similar to mine.
