Programming w/ hotcam or CC 305
Programming w/ hotcam or CC 305
do i need to have my computer reprogrammed to use the hotcam or cc305? I realize i will get the best results IF i get it tuned, but will it still be a good noticeable increase and good for daily driving with the stock computer????? i will have only the mods in my sig + full exhaust w/hooker lt's and true duals...........?
excuse my ignorance please

atalay is my brother, so I will answer that question. No we don't have any track/dyno numbers, but I think we will within the next week. I will add it to my sig soon as I do. With the HotCam, the only problem we have with the stock tuning is that the car doesn't want to pick up below 2000 rpm. And the idle is a little choppy, but I like it that way, you can tell that there is a nice cam under the hood. Other than that, it runs just fine, and it pulls like crazy all the way to the redline. But tuning will take care of some of the common problems, like the ones I mentioned. We will get ours dyno-tuned soon as we get some money. I have also heard very good things about Ion(madz28.com) and Bryan(pcmforless.com). Good luck.
I would love to give you an answer, but I really don't know much about A4s. With my M6, the car is still pulling like crazy when I hit the rev limiter at 5800 rpm. You can rev to 6300-6400 no problem with the HotCam, I don't think the stock 2-bolt main block will like more than ~6400rpms.
I don't know if you got the complete HotCam Kit or not but if you are going to rev higher than 6000rpms, I would recommend the 1.6rr, Heavy Duty LT4 Timing Chain Set and stronger valve springs as well.
put will the cc305 require comp mod's right away, see i was hoping to get the cam and then drive for awhile before i get a pcm reprogrammed.......? Also how streetable is cc305? and also how much lift w/1.6's?
Ive read a lot of poasts about people starting out with the hotcam and shortly after wishing they had gone bigger. I fell into that category. Granted Ive got a stroker, but the motor is coming back out for a re-ring and the cc306 is going in. Dont know how into performance your are, but if you are you know you always want more. So my opinoin is to go all out from the get go and only do it once and save money!!!
