Proform Cam Checker Tool - Dumb Question
Proform Cam Checker Tool - Dumb Question
Thanks for reading this post.
I ordered a proform cam checker tool. It slides into the lifter bore and holds a dial indicator.
I thought this would be a good solution to checking the cam and my installation.
I dawned on me that I might not be able to use this tool with the heads on.
Has anyone used this tool?
Will it work with the heads on?
Thanks

Re: Proform Cam Checker Tool - Dumb Question
I would like to check that the cam is degreed properly, that is why I would use it to check lift at .050 with a degree wheel to get the lobe centerline and check my work.
The heads overhang the block towards the intake. The cam checker has a large dial at the top. If the dial hits the heads, then you won't be able to slip it into the lifter bore. That is what I am concerned about.
I get the impression that some people have not seen this tool. Here is the link to it in Jegs.
