Proforce damper 80000
Proforce damper 80000
I just purchased this for my LT1 and started looking at it and am wondering how the hell you install it. It looks like its missing a spacer or something. I know the fords have them but i dident think you needed one for the LT1. It looks like the stock crank pulley bolts on to it but the pulley wont mate up to the damper. There is space between the two. Also there is no way to bolt the pulley onto the crank. There is nothing for the balancer bolt to hold on to on the hub. Is there something im missing???
Do you mean the Professional Produces PowerForce 80000 SBC damper? If so, that's not for an LT1. The part for an LT1 is 80030, and is an integral damper and pulley.

I know of several of those dampers that have literally exploded. Do not be cheap with your parts.
People continue to complain about outsourcing American jobs, yet they continue to buy inferior crap from china.

i would send it back except the problem is I asked professional products about which one to buy and then i bought it from frontline racing. So i cant blame them lol. I did email professional products about the situation but i dont know what they will do im sure they will try to brush me off.
To the OP, they have an SFI rated version, 90030, which is what I have. It is recommended for higher-than-stock RPMs.
I researched before buying, and Professional Products business address is:
12705 South Van Ness Avenue
Hawthorne, CA 90250
No 'Made in China' sticker, and the box says 'Hawthorne, CA'.
The 90030 seems like a decent part to me. So does my Callies Compstar rotating assembly, which definately IS Chinese, with good ol American quality control behind it.
I agree that Chinese products are on average a lot worse than American ones, sure, but it's the engineering, craftsmanship, and quality control that make a part good or bad.
