That is really odd... Are u sure the wheel bearings are the problem?
They should last 150k miles

If they go out again I'll sell you some used LT1 hub assemblies for cheap. Nothing wrong with them.

yeah....multiple shops said that the bearings were the problems and that the hub assembly must be replaced.....first the left one went out, started whining and getting louder and it varied when i turned left to right.....then the right one went out....same exact deal.....whining and grinding vibration type thing.....i replaced the hub and its perfect...problem has'nt came back again.....but this is really weird?

$280? I guess that was installed? They are only $120-ish from an auto supply and very easy to put on.

Don't feel bad just ordered my second one in 2 years for the passenger side P/N 7470587 approx $137.00 @ gmpartsdirect.com. Last one can from advance auto, figure I would see if the factory model would last longer. Good Luck

How do you get em off?
I was gonna take mine off recently when doing the front suspension to paint the knuckles and after I got all 4 bolts off that sucker was on there, I did not try very hard to get it off though just put the bolts back on and taped up what I did not want painted, but it seemed solid on there.

You should have tried a little harder.
Once the bolts are out you can tap it from the back with a rubber mallet. Once the hub moves out a bit you can pry a little with a screw driver and it should come right off.

Around here AutoZone and Advanced Auto had the hub assembly cheapest at 107$. Definitely don't give away 200$ something to the dealers.

The problem isn't the wheel bearing in this case, wheel bearings have a limited life. The problem really is that you got pounded on the price.

yeah, i realize that now.....yes the 280 was installed....at hidons(total car care plus)....i didnt know how hard it was to put on.....i figured it would require you take the car out of alignment....so i didnt mess with it for that reason alone. Oh well, i do it myself next time.
