problems disabling vats system (need an expert's advice)
OK,
A friend of mine STILL has problems starting his car. (as I already mentioned a while ago, he had problems with the VATS and he decided to bypass it)
So, he says the starter turns the engine over, I disabled the VATS from the computer, and he jumped a +12V wire to the fuel pump relay. The car STILL does not start. What else could be stopping it from firing?
Thanks!

My bad.I am not sure what disabling the VATS does. I guess it is supposed to ignore any input from the theft deterrent module.

I am pretty sure the 1994 pcm pinouts are the same as 1995. The pcm would normally be looking for 2.5v on connector "A" (red) pin 25 for the fuel enable signal, so the pcm would allow the injectors to fire. I guess you could check to see if the injectors were pulsing. Maybe there is even something in the pcm programming that you could tell it to have the fuel enable on all the time?
Well, I disabled the VATS from the PCM. There isn't any other setting related to this in the programming.
I know for a fact that disabling this VATS from the PCM will allow an LT1 engine to start in a non matching body. (ie, for some retrofit) but there has to be something else done to be able to start it in an F-body....
Thanks for trying to help, Rob!
