Problem that won't go away(Long).
I've been dealing with this hesitation for like over a month now. When I first bought the car I knew it had the stock plugs and wires, but I didn't know it hesitated when it got heated up to 210 AND ONLY when it gets up to 210 under heavy load not only off the line, but in high RPM. Once it got heated up that high it wouldn't feel that peppy anymore and would hesitate under heavy load low end get moving alright, them miss high rpm.
So, I changed plugs/wires/my torn rubber elbow(replaced with 1le). Did 160 thermostat so it wouldn't get heated up. Bought a MSD coil, but didn't put it on(drilling scares me).
For 2 weeks everything was fine, then one magical day it got heated up to 210, and the mother ****er hesitated just like it did originally. I was like **** so I changed fuel filter, did sea foam and cut out my catalytic convertor. Ran perfect for another 2 weeks, I even let it sit and bake at 210 in my driveway for a good 5-10 minutes and ran the **** out of it 3 times 3 different days, no hesitation.
Now, 2 week later, today, it got heated up to 210 and the mother ****er hesitated. Not as bad though, not in high RPM and it didn't feel like pure ****.
Just would hesitate when punching it off the line. Not from a roll anymore. So tomorrow, I plan on using sea foam deep creep in the intake and doing the MSD coil.
My question for you is, is neither of these fix it and two weeks from now it hesitates again. What the hell do I change? Please don't tell me opti, I think I'd rather saw my leg off.

Wow, I don't have a clue. I'll do you a favor and not say opti
I was having a high RPM miss when I first got the car, it was a bad coil wire. Looks like you have taken care of all the tune up stuff.

You keep mentioning your woes begin when the car reaches 210 degrees. You also mentioned you already installed a 160 degree thermostat. It may be in your interest to get a HPP+ or a remote fan switch to cut down the operating temperatures. With my HPP and a 160 degree thermostat my car NEVER tops above 185 or so. That's in 100 degree Texas summers.
Obviously there's an underlying problem and it's probably electrical. Electrical components and heat don't mix. Anyhow, good luck.

Yeah, I always think to just get my PCM reprogrammed, but then I think there's obviously a problem. So, I shouldn't just ignore it. Also, i am putting 1.6 rr and headers on this winter so if the opti is crapped out I can do it then. I am just waiting to get all the tuning BS done after that.
