Not really lt1 tech but this is the best place I rekon..


I have borla cat-back exhaust on my 96 camaro and the left tip hangs much lower than the right tip.

There is no hanger on the left tip like there is on the right... does anyone else have this problem with the left tip drooping?

 

Now you've got me wondering....I have a Borla on my 1995 (10 years old so it may be a little different...Be right back...going to garage.....

I've got hangers on both tips. Each bolts to the brace that's welded between each of the dual tips...

As the exhaust 'seasons', especially with SS, the system will 'settle' (for lack of a better term) and more times than not, settle unevenly due to the way it is fabricated. Mine did, and I took it to an exhaust shop and we were able to get the tips lined up again with a little work. The shop said this was pretty common and they had seen their fair share of this type of occurance.

 

Mine too has hangers on both sides. You'll need one installed on the drooping side.

 

How much should I expect to pay to get another exhaust hanger welded up to keep the tip up?

 

Try contacting Borla through their website by email, fax or telephone. They provided me with missing plates and included extra hardware including hangars when I did years ago.

Mine is off center to the left a bit but I live with it, it's in good and aint going nowhere.
