Is it only when you are moving, or does it do it the whole time? I know one of my tires was unbalanced and it made this really wierd kind of "thump" as I turned, consistent with speed, I could only feel it turning on smooth pavement. Rotated the tires and it went away. Can't think of anything else. Most of the steering whines when something is going wrong.

Its when moving only and only when im in reverse its coming from the front and you can sort of feel it through the steering wheel.
