Ok guys - I went downstairs and checked the car for spark by taking out a plug and grounding it to the block, while my roommate turned the car over. I got no spark with the bad plug. I happened to have a spare good plug around so I tried that plug and got nothing either. How do I start to find my spark problem?

Hey SVT - Id love some assisstance with this thing - Like I said before Im not exactly the most knowledgeable about it. Im on base so we'd have to arrange things first.

unplug you ignition coil power lead wire. that goes into the optispark. hookup a spark plug to it and ground it. have your friend turn the car over and check for spark. if there is no spark you have a bad ignition coil. if you do have spark then its time to change the optispark.

try to scan the computer for codes. ask people in your area with LT-1 edit or something to scan it for you. that might help you norrow it down.

and those plugs looked normal to me. black carbon on the plugs is normal.

how many miles it she have?

its not only the coil. It can be the ECM, right about the coil... It caused a problem just like this on my buddies LT1, we checked the coil and relpaced it with my stock coil, and nothing, changed the ECM and voila it fired...
