i just got finished resealing my water pump. after i had everything back together....it keeps overheating because my primary fan doesn't want to kick on. the secondary fan comes on fine but for some reason the primary won't. i tried to switch by putting the secondary fan on the primary connector but that did nothing. it is obviously not the fan and i also changed the fan relay and that also fixed nothing. you guys have any other stuff that i could check as far as what could be causing this prob...?

Jump power to the fan from the realy to make sure the fan motor is still good

 

from what I am reading.... you seemed to have already found the cause of the primary fan not turning on, if the secondary fan turns on but not the primary, than you switch the connectors and the primary still dose not work than the primary fan motor must be burnt out. you can try powering the fan manualy to. I would use somthing called a power probe to ground and power the fan but thats not a tool most people have around, so you can also use jumper wires to supply power and ground to the fan motor

 

i know that both of the fans work because i put both of them on the secondary connector and they both worked fine. i was thinking it was maybe the ETC sensor on the water pump.
