Question Price of rockers that come with the LT4 hotcam kit?

I know someone that will sell me an LT4 hotcam kit but it is without the rockers. I was wondering how much do these rockers cost? I just want to know if I'm better off buying the whole kit or just buying this kit from him and then get the rockers.

Thanks for the input,

Chris

You can get the rockers and various parts and pieces from GM Parts Direct for under $300 (the last time I checked I believe it was in the neighborhood of $270 but that was some time ago).

Summit sells Proform Self Aligning Roller Rockers (equivalent to LT4's) 1.5 for 3/8" studs, with polly locks for $179, don't forget to get a LT4 knock module to go with the SA rockers so your computer doesn't retard your timing do to false knock from noisy SA rockers.

Are they as good as the 1.6 rocker that are suppose to come with the kit?

I believe the Proforms are extruded aluminum, I'm not sure but I think the LT4 are closest to the Crane Gold Rockers which are probably stronger but they should be good for a "mildish" cam like the LT4 hot cam. As far as the difference in ratio, I didn't know the LT4 kit came with 1.6 rockers, this would cause the net lift to be slightly less but make the cam more streatable. Make sure you're at least getting the new springs and retainers with the cam.

I am almost certain the GM rockers are identical to the Crane "Gold" aluminum rockers. They look exactly the same anyway.

The rockers that come in the GM Performance parts (#12370839) are almost certainly Crane since a Crane instruction sheet was packaged with them.

So I would be paying like an extra $100 for the gold coloring and the words Crane Cams.

Chris

It appears everything is there, but it's hard to tell in your pic. From what I remember, I thought that Crane makes the rockers for GM, the only difference is the blue anodizing.

I ordered Comp Pro Mag 1.6's from Thunder Racing for $284.xx shipped.
