I noticed tonight while driving around that when I'm at a stoplight my oil pressure needle bounces slightly from like 25 to 30 psi. Kinda like with the cam. Is this normal??? The engine was kinda hot....water temp 190, Oil temp 230. Was stuck in some traffic.

 

Mine does the same thing while its idleing....

Mine also jumps around when at idle but works fine when the accelerator is being pressed, it is nice and steady.

 

Same here. Mine bounces slightly when idling at 900rpm. Once above 1100rpm it is steady, at about 55psi. I've ran Mobil 1 5w30 from the time the car had just 3000 miles on the odo and today it has 94k miles. I don't know when it started doing this, but it has done it for the last 50k miles, perhaps even longer, and it hasn't died yet.

 

And its not going to die for a long time either, its totally normal. Have you ever seen a highly cammed engine w/high pressure pump at idle, its crazy some can vary 40psi bouncing constaly at idle.....
