Exclamation Powersteering Resivior Cap Leaking

Just like the topic says, my PS resivior cap has been leaking for about a year now. I've gone through 3 caps, and they keep leaking. I dont know what the problem is and I've also talked to 4 other people (one with an LS1), they've all had the same problem.

Is there a way to fix this?

Actually there is a little hole in the top of the cap...not in the center of it but its around the edges somewhere. Usually on a hot day have heavy riding you can see it "bubble" out. Is this what your talking about?

I havent seen this hole, but if I clean around the cap, about 2 days later, there will be PS fluid all around the cap on all sides. Even leaked down around the whole resivior. I just had the PS pump replaced a few days ago because my stocker broke, and it still leaks. The fluid level isnt even too high, it just seems to seep out around the gasket.

The cap states not to overfill...make sure you're checking the level properly (hot vs cold). Mine doesn't leak but I do get some "moisture" near the cap.

Hmmm...I know what your talking about but mine doesnt do it as much in the winter. My power steering pump is gawn. And it hasn't done it as much as it use to. But check around the cap...its on there, it might be there to release pressure inside the reservor or something like that.

You might want to ask the autocross guys. They are familiar with LS1s leaking PS fluid. A PS cooler may be the solution for your problem.

I have seen some guys use a scrunchie (you know those elastic cloth hair things) on the autocross course. Seems to sop up the goop, and I would bet they are cheap. Of course it doesnt look so pretty, but it'll do the trick.
