Took your advice and am not getting ORP. BUt what can I do about this.....CATS

I would still like to get rid of the cats and make my echaust louder. I am going to order an electronic cut-out from DMH and when i am running through the muffler I would like it louder than it is now.... IS there anyway to toss the cats and get straight pipe in there? What about highflow cats? Don't want to pay an arm and a leg for new cats. Also, I have heard gutting your cats makes the car sound bad. Help. I want some options please. How did you get rid of your cats?

I had a shop cut mine out and just put pipe there instead. You aren't going to feel anything performance wise, but you can hear a difference. It also kinda seems to flow a little bit better. I have no regrets taking mine off.

Did they weld the pipe in place? What if the shop won't cut off the cats? I heard if you cut them off yourself and bring the car the car in they will weld in pipe.

Just curious, but what is wrong with an ORP?

Yeah, they just weld pipe where the cats used to be. If you take them off yourself, be prepared for the driver's side cat. It's a major PITA. Try your best to find a shop that will actually do it first.

gotcha... If i were you i would wait to put the cut-out on before you take out the cats. You will probably be happy with keeping the cats and leaving the cut-out open all the time. You may run into EGR syetem failures from taking the cats out b/c there is no back pressure and it wont work properly. Some have this problem, some dont.

I cannot stand to run my cut-out open with my ORP in, its way way way to loud and annoying, but with the cats its not bad.

Dude....I have an offroad pipe for a dual cat car for sale that I'll go if you're interested. It'll be cheaper than the e-cutout for sure. Let me know

I shouldn't get an SES light because I am also doing 3.73 gears and am having the codes programmed out of the system.
