Question PowerMax 2050

I am wondering who is using Crane Cam Powermax 2050? Its spec’s are:

Degrees Duration @ .050 Int./Exh. 218/218
Degrees Advertised Duration Int./Exh. 280/280
Degree Lobe Separation 116
Open/Close @.050" Cam Lift Int./Exh. (2)40/50(12)
Lash Hot Int./Exh. .000/.000
Gross Lift Int./Exh. .498/.498

Crane Cam Powermax 2050

I am just wondering about it, because it has a CARB EO number for use in California. How is compared to the major one’s I see on the board, like Hotcam, CC305, or CC306? Also if it is a pretty good cam, what stall speed should I be looking at for the cam? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks…

I guess no one is using this type of cam. Now the second question, since there is not that many people using it, is the cam any good?

Notice there is no int/exh split. This cam would be good on a head with more exhaust flow, our heads have less than the optimum ratio of intake to exhaust flow which is why cams with a split and more exh duration perform better. If your heads have exh port work done then it could be good.

Hey, thanks for the help. I am planning to go with AFR 180cc heads, which also have a CARB EO number. Do you think they have enough exhaust work done to accommodate that crane cam? My goal is to make an occasional drag car, but mostly a car that can brush off those pesky AMG’s and M-series I am dealing with out here in Cali. Also, I heard a lot of good things with that cc502. If I can’t get the numbers right with the crane, I am definitely going with that cc502. Also it sound like I should forgo the torque converter and do a A4 to M6 conversion to really enjoy that cc502.
