Powerband on Aftermarket cams?

Could anyone tell me the powerband on the following cams

CC305
CC306
LT4 Hotcam
comp xe 224/230
XE 230/236

on cars with most boltons, and what kind of rpm's would you be shifting at. Thanks

not for sure, but i've heard they are all a little weak under about 2500rpm, with the bigger the cam, the worse the bottom end, i've heard good things about the xe grinds though, i would say the hotcam has the most streetable powerband, but you can still rev the **** out of it to get all the power it has to offer

On the CC306 i would expect no less than 3500 for it to start making power probably into 4k before it makes power. I have seen dynos of the 230/236 and it is close in duration to the 306 and it didn't start making power until 4k.

I have the cc305, 2400 stall, and 3.73s gears. I have a bunch of other bolt-ons including long tubes but my car screams from about 3500-6200rpm. It really starts to fall off at about 6300. As for the 306, my brother-in-law was shifting at about 6700 or so. that thing really made power in the high rpms 4500-6700. the hotcam will be good from about 3000-6100 or so but the cc305 will make a tad more peak hp.

i believe the Hot cam has an advertised powerband of 2500 to 6000.

As per the Comp Cams catalog:
CC305: 1500-5500rpm
CC306: 1800-5800rpm
The Hotcam should be comparable to the CC305.

I have the comp xe 224/230 on a 112 lsa that thing pulls from about 2300 up to 6500 its a great cam. Probably the biggest u should run on a stock head

i AGREE,
iwould be all over a long durration, lower lift cam on stock heads as opposed to a low durration high lift cam...

306 works real well on stock heads due to its HUGE exhuast bias- well thats my guess anyway

With the 224/230 its a little sluggish under 2 but then it just rips with torque and hp as soon as you go wot above 2400 I went from trapping 104 to a new best of 115 with porting my own heads, that cam, 1.6 roller rockers and long tube headers

My cc305 cam dyno shows the car reaching its peak at 5700 and holding it until 6300rpms (my cut off point). With my old mods it would stay at within 5 wrhp through 5700-6300. You really begin to feel the cam at 4500rpms. the cam can go higher.. The cam is probably good for 6500 rpms
This is in a M6 with shorties and bolt ons at the time. and a mail order tune.

I have the XE 230/236. I think it has good low end torque, at least as good as the stock cam. Once it gets around 3000 it's pulling pretty hard. The torque increases smoothly as it revs up. There's no sudden increases, like VTEC or somethig

On my hotcam dyno it held over 300 tourque from when he started at (2000) all the way to 5600 and peaked right around 4500. My tach was off so it only went up to 5700 so I have no idea how long it holds peak horespower

From what I've seen comparing my dyno to stock heads/cc305 dynos, they have more midrange tourque than me but I have around the same peak...

Example, Mine 330hp/327tq... Usuall cc305 330hp/345tq

I imagine it's due to the LSA difference...
