Shoebox's site has the info where to drill, helped me tremendously.

You can get Auto Zone motors for $50 lifetime warranty...just a PITA to have to replace them when they go otu

I went ahead and put the motor in tonight, and it rolls up in exactly 4 seconds now, compared to the passenger side which takes 10 seconds.
Much better improvement, but still not as fast as my Chevy truck. Never had the door panels off of it...replaced the motor twice but never had a reason to take the door panel off or I could tell you if it even has the same style motor and how it designed differently, but I can't.
As far as the TA window, there only a track in there to grease, and the half moon gear wheel is about a foot in diameter, that may be the reason its so slow as others I have seen were not quit that big, hence less travel distance on gear to roll up window.

Took about 1 hr 15 min excluding the time it took me to get the darn lock button back on which was about 30 mins. Most time consuming part was trying to get my fingers in there to hold the tiny screws that replace the rivets and getting the motor to set in there just right so the screw holes lined up, for some reason the gear teeth would not fall into place, had to hit a small hole the gear end sits in just right.

broken window motor

I have not done any auto work in 35 yrs. Replacing the window motor, is it a hard install or something a noOb can do? One moves about a 1/4" before stopping then i have to turn off engine and restart to get another 1/4" and the other window is only slightly better

I put mine in last night too. I was thinking what might be slowing down the window going up could be the balance spring. It's sprung to go down quick but the resitance to go up is really high. If you guys agree with me let me know. I have the brand new autozone - Siemans motor in the left side and it goes down really quick, I have not timed it going up but I will today.

Leftside going up is 6 sec, Right side going up is 5. Down is about 3 on both.
