power windows???

power windows???

i just started having probelms with passenger window switch not being able to roll the window up and now all of a sudden i cant roll the window down on using the driver window switch huh? i pulled the interior door panels and checked the wiring on the driver side and the switches they were both good and i checked the passenger window switch and that tested good is it the motor???? its like hell to get to the motor but that is one thing i did not check could it be that??? if anyone has any thoughts that would be cool....

I think the most common problem is the Channel binding or breaking.... when this happens it greatly increases the load on the window motor and the circuit breaker trips alot. If you replace just the motor it may seem like it fixed it because the fresh motor may mask the problem for a while. That happened to a friend of mine. With mine i just replaced the channel and the problem was solved. It was like a 45 dollar part. Took me about 6 hours but that was because was I doing it in 40 degree weather and my fingers were numb the whole time. You will need a 1/4 in riveter. You can bolt it but I dont reccomend it. Ive heard of them coming apart even with loc-tite.
