power steering? fixed itself but why?
power steering? fixed itself but why?
well the other day i was driving and i was muscling the wheel around, and i donno why but then it started working again
well i found out later that i sprung a leak in one of my hoses for coolant and replaced part of it and rigged it to stop leaking, but for maybe 2 minutes i was without power steering... and it started working again that was a few days ago, should i be weary about it?
or just forget it ever happened?

Hope that helps,

Yes, you probably got coolant on your belt, causing the power steering pump pulley to slip on the belt.
Don't worry. Power steering systems are fairly bullet proof. You will know if something is wrong. There are hardly any things that can cause intermittant problems. Gunk on the belt is one of them, and you found that out.
Normally, any problems that would occur with power steering systems would happen all the time.
Don't worry about it. Even if you lose power steering assist, you will always be able to steer the car.
