Power drop at WOT is killing power and killing me Help Please!!!

A little background info. My car was down on power and was only charging 12.5 volts. I installed a new racetronix fuel pump and harness hoping that would fix the problem. My volts went up but the power didn't. I later found out that the cam was off because i never degreed it. I fixed that and still down on power. Me and my friend turbo_z finally started looking at the datalogs and noticed that the voltage to my TPS, MAP, PCM and other sensors begins to drop. My TPS fell 1 whole volt and was only reading 80% throttle on one run. . I thought it might be a bad ground so i cut the wrapping off the engine wiring harness and traced all the ground wires and cleaned them. Still nothing. Here is a thread that has the logs in it if some people would be nice enough to look at them.

Today i was messing with the car and unplugged my racetronix wiring harness and hooked up the fuel pump the stock way. My voltage fell all the way down to 12.5 volts at idle. I don't know if thats a big deal or not. I also had the alternator checked today and it put out 14.0 volts and 120 amps. So its good. If anyone has a clue on this please put some imput in. I'm sick of this and i almost want to sell the car. .

Ps i'm also experiencing Data read errors intermittently. I don't know if thats related or separate. Hell i'll even paypal a $50 reward to anyone that comes up with a solution or points me in the right direction. Please help. Thanks Claude

if your having many problems at the same time, it's probably all related to either a bad ground or a short.
check for bad grounds using a voltmeter set at a low voltage setting 1 to 3 volts... and see how much voltage you get when you check between the engine block and the negitive battery terminal.
the reading should be maybe a half a volt or so, if there is a bad connection the voltage will be well above 1 volt.
you can check for bad grounds at other locations the same way, just probe the wire and connect the other end to a good clean ground nearby. i've found many problems this way.is there anybody out there that can reinforce this statement ...i don't know of anybody else that checks for bad grounds this way

Ok thanks. So i should check it with the car off and the key on? or nothing at all on? I'll look into that. Also another thing about my car i forgot to add is that on the data read errors it has no problem with errors when the car is off but the key is in the on position, but as soon as i start it up the data connection starts to get lost intermittently.

i would do it with the car running or at least the key on, there has to be voltage looking for a place to ground to, if the ground connection is bad the voltage will go through the voltmeter instead of the ground wire.... that is how this method works, and like i said this can be used at any ground connection ...not just for ground connections but thats where the problem is most of the time usually because the grounds are connected through painted surfaces and unprotected connectors

Don't go selling your car over this problem. It looks too nice and has too much potential to give it all up now.

We've all had problems that drove us to the edge...just keep with it.

Have you tried swaping the harness? Maybe someone local to you has a motor or harness that isn't being used that you could swap on to try it?

I had same problem once but it was the alternator. It could be a heat related issue. When car gets warm some electronics could act up. How old is Alt? also did you check all grounds?

The alternator is the stock one with 145k on it. I had it tested and it was good though . As for checking the grounds i cleaned all the ones on the stud by the coil and i cleaned where the ground strap goes to the body from the block. I also cleaned the 1 little ground wire that goes down by the starter, and i cleaned all of the ones that are on the stud by pcm. If i missed any let me know.

Thanks for the kind words, but its sickening. The car a little more power than a bolt on car but all the down sides of a heads and cam car. Poor idle, subpar gas mileage, yet it has none of the benefits of a heads and cam car.
I've thought about buying a new harness but i'm not sure thats the problem. My buddy has a 97Z but i don't think he'd switch me harnesses and i'm not sure if that his would work on my car.
