Monoblade tb, good, bad, ugly....
Re: Monoblade tb, good, bad, ugly....
depends on the engine if you really need it or not. A few things to consider:
You have to port out your intake manifold to the oval shape of the TB opening. They cost more than a 52 or 58. Are you running NA or boosted? If you are running NA you probably dont need the monoblade. If you are running a lot of boost, than it may benefit you.
If you determine that you NEED the monoblade, than go for it. AS&M makes a quality product. I went with their 58mm for my 383 NA application

I'd be careful with a monoblade on a high boost application. That long unsupported shaft isn't going to like being closed against full boost. The highest HP blown LT1 I've been involved with made 1,125HP using a 58mm BBK.
You will also eliiminate the factory intake manifold IAC path when you mill the divider out from between the two throttle bores.

seems to be the feeling I get from most people, thanks. Is there a reason people choose the BBk over Holley? The price isn't that different and man the Holley looks good.
