Power before cast -> steel crankshaft

Resonably when should the switch be made. been looking at eagle crankshafts and wondering at what level i should upgrade from the cast steel to the 4340 forged piece. the eagle rep told me 500 flywheel, and I have already made almost 500 at the wheels on a stock crankshaft, and almost 600 ft lbs of torque. would it be crazy to go with a steel crankshaft and still use a studded 2 bolt main?
