Possibly bad opti?

Car ran great sat night, then sun morning I couldnt get it started at all for some reason. Finally after swapping in my old obdII pcm, it started after 20 min of trying. Swaped in new pcm and drove fine. I thought this was odd

Car started great on mon morning with no probems. This morning had the same starting probem and it eventually started with about 30 min of cranking and recharging of battery. I was totally baffled until later today, I floored the car at low rpm's in 4th and it started mis firing. Other than that, the car drives great.

Im figuring the opti is about to die. Brand new coil, perfect fuel pressure, and all wires are secure. The symptoms seem like an opti, and I have 115K on the original. Am I correct or what else could it be?

If it is, i need to get a new Opti and install it by sat so i can go to SLP day. What great timing

did u mean that u had to recharged ur battery while cranking???

if its the opti problem, u dont have to worry, it only took me and my friend 3 hours to change an opti. Oh we didn't took off the waterpump, we'd only took off the pulley that was right in front of the optispark.. i guess me and my friend were lucky that day..

I think I am having the same problems just without a starting problem. My Z coughs at high RPM's but drives normal in lower RPM's and I have checked all ignition and fuel componenets and connections. I am thinking about going with the dynotech opti but I am not sure -have you heard anything about that particular opti system? My opti at the moment is the non vented so I am going to change it to the vented style hoping to restore performance.

No, I had tried to start it so many times that I killed the battery, so I had to recharge it to try again.
