ok when my last opti went out the car wouldnt start at all. is it possible for one to start and run but have a BAD miss?
if i stomp it off the start sometimes it just falls off and backfires through the intake. when it does go about 4500 rpm's and up it has a bad miss. i mean its like i let off the throttle and slam it back to the floor 2 or 3 times. tonight it did it so bad on a 100 shot it barked the tires twice in 1st gear. the opti is about 2 years old and the plugs,wires and coil are brand new.
If i slowly get on it (1/2 to 3/4 throttle) you can hear it die out in the upper rpm's still. sorry this is so long but damn im lost here. i've had this problem for awhile but its getting worse and worse and twice as bad on the spray. any opinions will help. thanks guys

Sounds like an opti, I would have said coil wire but you already replace the coil and wires. Another possability would be that when you replaced your plugs and wires that you mixes up the order on the opti... I would just replace the opti!

 

do you know if the obd1 cars logs a random missfire code? i was wondering if i ran a scan while i stomped the car if it would read a code but the ses light hasnt come on yet. just wondering

well i took the opti off today and the hole in the back where the cam runs is broke! i mean half the circle is broke off,just a spring there. im really hopping that thats why in the upper rpm's i had the miss. maybe the cam gear slipping inside the drive hole. well see tomorrow.
