Unhappy Possible RR problem??

OK I have just installed a Hotcam kit in my LT1 and when we finished it up we double and triple checked for vacuum lines plug wires every single thing just about that you can think of. Then we started the car and it started right up I finished filling up the coolant, and checked for leaks (coolant & oil). Then I took the car for a ride for about 5 minutes or so and the car drove GREAT, well then I shut it off for about 5 minutes or so to clean up the rest of the tools and when I went to start it again, it wouldnt start. I did a search on here to see what problems this could be, and one of the things that I came up with is that it's quite possible that the rockers could be too tight. Well my buddy set them with the car off, tightened them down until the pushrod wouldn't spin and then went another quarter turn. But what my question is if they were too tight why did the car start up perfect the first time?? I thought that rockers would get looser after you started the car and not tighten??

Thanks for your help...

Does you car crank but not start? If so then it is quite possible that the the rockers are too tight. Do you have polylocks on your rockers? I would just pull the vavle covers and readjust them again.

You dont tighten them until they stop spinning, you tighten them until there is SOME friction due to the rocker, then a 1/4-1/2 turn more.

You can also do them when the car is on by doing the off method first and then loosen the rockers one at a time and tighten them until they stop tapping, then a 1/4 turn more.

I found the best results by tightenining only after there is no up and down play on the pushrod. I went 1/4 turn after that.
