Possible rocker arm ticking?

I was cruisin around a corner today and missed a gear goin up the hill and shot the RPMs up to like 6 grand and now I have a pretty annoying ticking under the hood. I tightened my header bolts just a couple weeks ago but not sure if I did it tight enough? How hard is it to determine a rocker arm problem? What are the things I can do to fix em or upgrade them. I'd like to keep big buck mods out of the engine for now just because I know I need a new clutch and rebuild my M6 pretty soon.

You can take the valve covers off and see if anything is going on in there. How bad is the ticking? Maybe you damaged something.

I just started er again and it seems to be coming from under the car. I could totally be wrong but maybe I'll take it to my exhaust guy and make sure it's not the long tubes or y pipe. If it's not can I take the valve covers off and let it run without making a mess?

I just use rags and it will catch most of the oil. You can wipe the rest after your done. Hope the noise isn't coming from the bottom of the engine. Is your oil pressure normal?

Rags and a cut sheet of cardboard or plastic. Anything to keep it from splattering my headers.

Yeah Oil pressure is perfect. I'm now convinced it's a rocker noise on the driver side.
