Angry Possible opti problems again!!!!!

Can an O'reily's optispark fail in a week? I am starting to wonder, if the optispark i just put in failed again. I did it last week. It ran good for a week and thats it. It runs like **** again now. I don't have any coolant leaks, so that couldnt have done it. This is gonna royally **** me off, if thats the case. How can I tell if the optispark has gone bad again? thanks, Michael

Well, yes, it can be bad again. They can be bad right out of the box...although it is not common. This topic has been beat to death on this board. DON'T BUY NON-OEM OPTIS!!! I got a brand new OEM opti for only $197 SHIPPED from Dal! It's not worth messing around with cheap rebuilds.

I have cheap rebuild.
Working excellent so far. I did put an AC delco cap and rotor on it though, its bastardized, I put a vented cap on a non vented opti.

Are you getting a code? What makes you think the opti is bad again?

I had been using a "mut opti" made from like 4 different autozone opti parts, and decided to put in a brand new OEM ACdelco one when i did my motor swap. well i 200 miles later, i am putting the "mut" one back in. My car is running HORRIBLE

by the way, what is your doing?
Mine at low RPMS backfires and pops alot, surging, and under throttle, feels like its lost about 150 hp, very shaky, vibrations, no power.

Dal and Sam are parts distributors at dealerships in the country. They give good prices on many stock parts.
I have ordered parts from the guy in FL and he is good to work with.

Try running a search for Dal or Sam or "best price on Opti" or something like that.
