Possible faulty K-Member?
Possible faulty K-Member?
I took the car apart to relocate the alternator, install the madman manual rack, and a BMR K-Member.
I removed the old K-Member with the A-Arms attached due to the rear bolt not wanting to come off. No biggie I thought, I will just get the bolt off later in the week.
Not I am attempting to put the new K-Member in and I can only get one motor mount bolt in. The K-Member lines up with the frame, and I have the drivers side mount in. Now the passenger side mount is off by 1/2 cm. The mount visually looks crooked. The holes just do not line up. I have the bolt in all the way until it hits the other side of the bracket where it is a 1/2 cm off to the side.
Anyone ever have this happen when installing a K-Member? Any ideas or tricks?

I have the same problem, in fact I had *several* fitment problems with the BMR k-member, this was the least of my problems.
The only way I can get the pass side in is to FIRST put the big motor mount bolt through (start nut but do not tighten), before installing the 3 block bolts. I raise the engine to a position where I can start one of the 3 bolts into the block (might need to pry to get a direct shot, can't remember). Then I pry whatever way needed (with a screwdriver or pry bar) to get the other 2 started in a couple threads. Then I lower the engine back down and tighten everything up.

Ahhh, so you are saying I should loosen the motor mount bracket on the engine in order to get the bolt through. That sounds like it may work.
I think drilling the hole out on the bracket is not going to solve the problem. It may leave the engine in a different position than before.
