Well the car isn't daily driven, I only get the car out on weekends and not every weekend at that. I have had the car since May of 2002 and have put about 6000 miles on it, only put around 1500-2000 since cam change.
I am going to leave the LT4 heads alone for now. So whatever cam I go with, if I even change right now will be going in without any additional headwork, aside from valve springs.

Here's what my last car had:
'89 Firebird coupe, 700R4, Vigilante 3600, 3.73 gear, drag radials, 3550 lb with me in it.
11.3/1 compression 383, 5.7 rods. Pump gas: no problem.
AFR 210's out of the box.
GM 847 hydraulic roller cam.
Victor Jr. intake and Holley 750 carb.
SLP 1 3/4" shorty headers, SLP muffler.
This car ran a best of 11.09 at 122.7 mph. I shifted at 6,200 rpm.
However, knowing what I know now, I'd recommend for the LT1 a custom grind Extreme Comp cam with 230 intake and 242 exhaust duration. Get it ground on a 112, 4 degrees advanced. It will idle better than the 847 and the 306, plus make more power everywhere. As with any Extreme cam, though, you'll need 140+ lb seat pressure from your springs.
If you use at least 11/1 compression, it won't lose any low-end torque.

I think I will just keep my HOT CAM, add 1.7's and the other things listed in my sig and see what kind of time I can get out of it.
Just save up a little and start building another motor for it. Forged with probably a 200 shot.
