Possible Blown Heat Gasket?

The only symptoms is that I have low compression. Idles fine and no smoke coming from the exhaust. Had a block test done and showed that there was gas fumes in the coolant. I also found out that I had a coolant leak at the water pump, but got better when the car was running. So Im 90% sure it is a head gasket, but want to be 100% defore I take the heads off.

mine blew a head gasket once. Take the rad. cap off with the engine running and see if coolant is showing ALOT of bubbles. On my car it would shoot the coolant out pretty far, plus the "steaming" out of the exhaust. Also, pull the plugs out, if there is coolant the plug should show it...later

I just got done with head gaskets on my Z and there was no question when it blew, had all the head gasket symptoms, but back to your car if you suspect a head gasket leak look at the oil on the dip stick.. Chocolate milk looking ?? Also pull spark plugs if there is coolant in the cylinder that spark plug will be steam cleaned and look like new.
