Position of MAF censor?

*sensor, sorry
Weird question, which direction should the bar code or sticker with the serial number be facing on the MAF censor? I had mine turned awhile back a certain way and a guy at a local speed shop said I needed to turn it back or it would cause me to run rich. I turned it back, and somehow in the process of cleaning my airfilter/goofing off, I think it got turned wrong. Dumb question maybe, but I'll feel smarter for asking, how does it need to be "turned?" Thanks

They all should have a flow arrow on the actual sensor piece(center) itself. I've never seen one that hasn't.

im not sure if putting a MAF in backwards would really make much difference how the sensor reads incoming air but if the arrows dont make sense then just remember the side with the terminal needs to point to your right, facing the front of your car. i forgot about the most obvious factor.. the screen be on the same side as the air filter

Mine (at least while I was still using it) says "this side toward air filter". The support rods in the center of the sensor are not symettrical - the "rounded" side of the supports goes toward the air filter, to provide smooth flow for the air around the supports. If you put it in backward, you will be flowing the air into the back side of the support rods, which is an open "U" shape, and will cause turbulance.... small, but of siginifcance.

on mine, the little resistors or whatever on those 5 bars inside are attached to the front, and thats the side that points to the airbox.

No, no. I have the airflow going the right way. I mean do I need to rotate the sensor from front to back any? Kinda hard to explain. Image turning a lock with a key. You turn the **** over. Do I need to have the sensor turned any certain direction up or down?

It does not matter what "clock" position it is in. You must be able to reach it with the plug. Most are like this.

Mine has arrows for the air flow. And it should be easy to plug in.
