Re: Porting Heads
Is this all I need to do it correctly? Or do I need some kind of special bit?

i second that, i started before i read this book and really wish i would've read it first!
as for tools try www.jlindustrial.com
you'll need a 6" and 2" long carbide burr, round end
6"/4"/2" cartridge roll mandrel (known as tootsie rolls)
a box of 80 grit rolls
and i suggest a fine grit polishing stone such as a 240 or so and some emory cloth.
a nice 4" 120 grit flopper wheel works wonders for the chambers.
lookup that book, it's $15 for some invaluable knowledge.

Research first and TAKE YOUR TIME! The right tools for porting are worth it to buy! You will want to get that set of 3 6" non ferrous deburring bits(SUM-900630), you'll also probably want to get the 3 2" non ferrous deburring bits(SUM-900230). Then to finish it off you'll need some sanding rolls and something to polish the chambers and exhaust bowls/runners with- I think this kit should be enough for you to finish a set of heads SAI-260012.
What will you be using to do the work? Do you have a compressed air source? I used an air powered die grinder for mine. You could also use an electric powered die grinder but they are a little harder to find. That and most don't have a way to vary the speed of the tool. Some people rig up a dimmer switch so they can change the speed though.
Good luck.
