Re: Ported Manifolds

There are no aftermarket intake manifolds for the LT1. You are limited to the factory LT1, factory LT4 (no longer made) or converting a Gen 1 SBC single-plane. The stock manifold can be worked for over 500 flywheel HP, beyond that you can look at something else.

Re: Ported Manifolds

Actually Edelbrock makes a LT-1 AIR GAP intake manifold and YearOne as well as Summit sell the LT-4 Intake manifold.
I believe you can also use the TPIS miniram II on lt-1 just it doesn't gain as much HP as the two others and costs ALOT more.

Actually, Edelbrock has had the LT1 and LT4 "Air Gap" manifolds in their catalog since the beginning of 2006, and has yet to offer one for sale. Do a "search". In fact, they had an LT1 intake in their 1995 catalog, and never sold a single one, because it was no different than the stock manifold.

The LT4 intake is no longer manufactured, and is no longer available from any retail sources. You can find used ones on eBay for up to $900.

The TPIS miniram is for Gen 1 SBC's and had a different bolt pattern and a different bolt angle, plus the connections for the wet manifold coolant, all of which need to be "converted" to allow it to be bolted to a Gen 2 SBC head.

Re: Ported Manifolds

You port it and polish it out, but it's only effective if your matching it to a set of ported heads. Otherwise the stock intake is good enough.

Yep, and it doesn't look like you're anywhere near the power level or mod level where you need to be worrying about your intake manifold.
