ported heads with hotcam, bigger injectors?

I'm getting the LE1 with a hotcam. Do I need 30lb injectors?

Shouldn't. I'm running ported heads on a hotcam and am using a set of 24# SVO injectors (I know, I know, they're flowing a bit more than stock) and have plenty of room to spare.

Ported heads with hotcam here, stock 24 pounders still going strong. Numbers in sig. By my calculations I am at like 96-98% duty cycle though. I am going to do 30# SVO's when i do the GM847 swap.

Why wouldn't you follow Lloyd's advice and go for a set of 30's?

When I was using the Hot Cam with unported heads, my inj duty cycle at WOT was around 90%. So, I would say yes, why take a chance?

I also ran the HOT cam on stock heads with the stock injectors and got away with it for quite a while. For ported heads and supporting mods.... i'd definately go with 30lb SVOs! You're tuner will like you more if you do.

From what I've read and seen it seems the rule of thumb is larger injectors are needed if planning to hit over 400rwhp.

I had the HOTcam and a set of homeported heads, my duty cycle was around 93%. I'm sure Lloyds heads flow better than the ones I had, so I would recommend getting the 30 lb injectors.

Money! After I pay for the porting I will need a week to recover so I was going to run stock injectors for a week. Just seeing if it was possible.

Including ALL the info in your original post might have made is easier for people to help you.

Sure, you can run the stock injectors for a week. They will probably not max out on that combo, but obviously you don't want to run them long term and push them close to 100% DC on a regular basis.

It's possible.... I wouldn't go WOT too much for fear of running it too lean or putting one of those injectors past the point of no return and you lose a cylinder.

Most likely on or just below the edge where you would need larger injectors but Lloyd has to play it safe if you were to have issues. He's trying to help ya avoid potential headaches. In other words.....probably a good idea and can't hurt, except for a little extra money.

Shoot, if money is an issue, I have two sets of 30 lb SVO sitting on my wall that I can cut ya a decent deal on. That, and about half an engine just in case I need something. A little extra money to save me a little grief.
