popping in the exhaust

It sounds like I'm running a little lean. I'm getting popping noises when I let off the throttle at high revs. I'm wondering what I need to do to fix that?

I have a Moroso CAI, BBK 1 5/8 shorty's, and Flowmaster exhaust. So, I have a little more air going through than I used to, but I need to even out the fuel. Any suggestions?

A little backfiring is normal I think on most cars.

Re: popping in the exhaust

From what I read thats not backfire, its "afterfire" My old set up did it all the time (Loudmouth and SLP Mids), I think its just how it is with certain exhaust set ups.

Hum, well... in that case I'll just leave it the way it is.

Thanks for the info

Re: popping in the exhaust

Running rich can cause exhaust pop as unburnt fuel explodes in the hot exhaust system. I little popping is normal for the LT1's on deceleration.

Well, that makes me feel a little better I guess. It's been doing it for a long time, I just hadn't really thought about it too much. I guess I'll have to wait to give the wife my exuse for the new injectors.
