popped a code 16

Still workin on my 94 Z28 Camaro ...the car will run fine for approx 10-15 mins and just die. It wont start back up for at least 10 mins or so. I did get a Code 16 (low Resolution pulse) (Ignition is not detecting the low resolution) is this trying to tell me my opti may be bad after all?

Opti's aren't an on-off switch. They can do all kinds of funny things when they are on their way out, many of which don't set a code. The code 16 means that the PCM is detecting 720 high resolution pulses before it detects one low resolution pulse. Without the low resolution pulse, the engine will not start (PCM shuts down the fuel pump/injectors).
