Braided AN coolant crossover?
Braided AN coolant crossover?
Hey guys, I wanna ditch that ugly stock coolant crossover and run some braided -4 or -6 whichever I have laying around. I was wondering can i run this off the front of the head? or does it matter?
I dont have an accessory bracket or the stock icm/coil etc on the head. This is on my turbo 383 that is being converted to a single plane and pretty well everything that woulda been in the way has been deleted.
I think the factory size is 1/4 or so which is -4an

Yeah, you'll definitely want to run it from the back of the heads or you risk steam pockets forming. You don't realize how much steam moves through that tube until you have one blow open.
I made one with 1/4 npt 90's and I think -4 hose/fittings. I ran one hose down each side of the manifold and joined them to go back into the radiator. It worked well enough though I will probably build a new one the next time around that doesn't interfere with the valve covers.
