You have to move your cats to make them work. Moving cats is a no no for emissions.

Back in the old days the "Tofu eaters or "Tree Huggers" as they called them than got together with some legistlation and created a thing called emissions... of course these emissions were great for the Tree Huggers... as thier 20hp VolksWagon Love Buses barly made enough power to cause polution, but to all of us car enthusiest it ment the bar was raised higher... years later "Tree Hugger" laws got worse and emissions more ****... in some states... "Tree Hugers" do visual inspections of vehicles... The **** codes go by various problems... but the #1 **** code from state to state is that the original Cat location is altered... or removed...there for it's illegal.

Go figure...

Re: POLL ~ Pacesetter Long Tubes ...

I've got some Pacesetter LTs with emission hook ups in the garage ready to put on the car but i'm tempted to sell these and get some without the emissions fittings. I live in MD and i gotta do the smog test so i'm 50-50 right now.

Even when i rolled up with AS&M, cats, and flowmaster they did a under car visual test. I failed the test 4 times and ended up getting "help" from the worker to pass.

In MD you gotta have cats.

I live in Maryland also and have done alot of research on emissions. It appears they do not do visual inspection unless you are applying for a waiver after spending more than $450 to fix you emmisions failures. I have also found out that if your car has been lowered to much they will give you a emissions waiver. Has any body recieved a waiver for an f body due to bein lowered? If so how low was the car. The few examples of cars getting waivers for being to low that i have seen have been ricers and they were REAL low.

Re: POLL ~ Pacesetter Long Tubes ...

Back when i had my ground controls I had my car lowered about 2.5 inch in the front and 2 in the rear and that didn't stop them. Out here the roller are almost flush with the ground so it doesn't matter, i'd imagine if they had one something like a dyno it might present a problem.

I've got a neighbor that has a mustang that got the wavier because the car was low. I think sportlines make it low enough, thats what i plan to go with anyway.

Re: POLL ~ Pacesetter Long Tubes ...

I currently have the motor out and rebuilding as a 383. I am trying to decide how big of a cam and what type of headers to use based on emissions. If I knew I could lower it enough to get a waiver I will use a big came and true duels off of LT's. If not I think i will go with lt's a custom catted Y and a xe 224/230 cam.
