plugging opti vent lines

I'm using the LTCC ignition, and was wondering if I can just plug the vent lines on the vented opti. If I'm not mistaken that was only to remove condesation in the cap and rotor area and should not be needed with the LTCC system. Does anyone know if plugging those vents will cause any problems with the optical sensor?

Re: plugging opti vent lines

I would keep the vents. In actuality, they are there to remove the ozone generated by the high voltage in the cap/rotor section. Obviously you have eliminated the high voltage. But it also removes moisture, and rust on the bearing retainer plate is what comes off and clogs up the optical sensor.

I've been running only the optical sensor (no high voltage) in the Opti for almost 5 years, and I actually converted to a vented Opti to get the benefits of the venting system.

IMHO, leave them connected.
