Please take a guess.

Take a guess please.

Just had new short block installed. Getting a little oil leak in the front.

Going to take to mech. for first oil change and checkup (and fix the oil leak).

What's your guess?

Pan Casket?
Timing Chain Gasket?

Or...the oil cooler was deleted. Is there some place it could leak when the cooler is deleted?

Thanks much.

You didn't mention what year your car/engine was, so I'll take a wild guess....

- Timing cover seal
- Oil pan seal (where it meets the timing cover)
- Crank Position Sensor (OBD2, 1996+)
- Crank Hub seal
- Intake manifold
- Opti or waterpump shaft seals

If its on the front I would guess the lip where the oil pan meets the timing chain cover.

Beleive it or not my CPS leaked after reinstalling the timing cover. :dunno: I just removed it, cleaned it and the o-ring, no more problems. Might be worth a closer look.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. It doesn't sound like it would be too serious, but I just want to make sure that the mechanic fixes it.

Having spend about 3000 bucks (not including the the short block) for the installation, I believe I should get a leak-free install.
