Are you basing your feeling that the engine is about to overheat on the dash coolant temp gauge? Have you verified that the gauge and the sensor its connected to in the driver's side head are correct?

There is a part of the testing info that requires the use of a scanner to verify what the computer sees. It is an important part of the troubleshooting procedure. Guessing at stuff gets you nowhere.

Yeah i know.I put a new sensor in so we'll see if that was it in the mean time im gonna test the connector andsee whats up with that.Is there anyone in the boston are with a scan tool i can use?? But what i need to know is if the fans come on when i jump the dlc and they come on when i get a ses does that mean my pcm is ok..or? I at least want to rule out the big one ya know.

It would seem to make sense that if the PCM can turn the fan on, the problem must be with the sensor or wiring from.
