please help! stuck on tranny removal

I need to get off the tranny cooler lines from the tranny itself. What is a good way to get them. Ive lowered the tranny as much as I can and still cant get a line wrench to grab. Is there anything Im missing? I cant do anything till this is done. thanks in advance.

Ok I am up to removing the bell housing bolts. But I think I can help. I just bent the lines alittle and get a long wrench (cut one and put the small end into a piece of pipe) then hook up and pushon the f#$@er and push like mad it took me near two hours about a hour a line.

I couldnt get the lines off and thats the only thing holding me back from getting this bastard out so I can actually drive it again.... My line wrenches kept slipping and almost started to round off the 1/2 inch nut. So I got a pair of vice grips and turned it a little but it twists the steel line too. so I dont know what to do now and Im so frustrated. Any suggestions?......Anyone?

Disconnect the tranny cooler lines from the mounting points around the oil pan, drop the tranny down as much as it will go, then you can get a better angle on the bolts. I read this thread yesterday, and helped a buddy pull my tranny today, that's all we had to do.

thanks for your replies. How hard would it be to run soft lines (and how hard on my wallet?) And since Im going to install a tranny cooler do I have to change those anyway?

You could probably just cut the lines, then splice them back together with fuel injection hose and clamps.
