Please Help. Procedure for filling up on coolant.

What is the procedure to fill the coolant. The sticker says it has a special procedure to fill up on coolant and failure to do this could cause engine damage. Well i didn't see this until I already filled it up. Now i'm scared to start the car. Help!

1. Fill radiator thru top radiator cap to the edge

2. open first bleed screw located on the heater hose - allow leak untill you see a steady stream. close

3. repeat step 1

4. start engine and wait till thermo opens (you'll know.. the level of fluid in the radiator will drop) again repeat step 1.

5. engine still on - open bleed screw #2 located on thermostat housing lid ontop of the waterpump - allow leak untill you see a steady stream. close

6. repeat step 1 - then put cap back on radiator and fill the overflow tank to the proper level (lines are on the dip stick)

If you notice the temp is higher than it should after doing this, just repeat the bleeding steps.

Thanks Bryan. Just got my car yesterday and the owners manual wouldn't in the car. Where could you get an owners manual at? I'm new to the late model f-bodys.

I'm not getting any stream coming out of the heater hose in step #2. So I loosened the bleed screw out of the thermostat instead step #5 and got a steady stream. Should the steps be reversed from what you told me?

As long as you dont have the engine running when you open the heater hose bleed screw (sucks in air) then you're fine in whatever order you do.
