Please help me with springs.

I just got some GMPP 1.6 RRs and my lift will be .555 on the exhaust side. I need to know what kind of springs i should put on my heads. The ones i have now are only good to .540. I dont want to chance it. I want something that doesnt require any machining. Also in the instructions i recieved with the rockers, it says i cant use a spring diameter larger than 1.450. I already have springs seats with my present springs that i got from TPIS. Will these work with most other springs? Thank in advance.

I particularly like the new comp cams beehive ls1 springs, there was a nice article on them in last months popular Hot Rodding as well, and they go up to a .600 lift, I use them on my 383

Do they require any machining to the heads? I want to do this with the heads on the car. What is the diameter of the springs?

the comp beehives should just fit right in, mine required very very slight machining but only cost me a few bucks to have done, according to the studies ive seen on them they are a pretty impressive spring, they are made for the ls1 but fit into our heads as well

What im worried about is that I will have to machine though. Is there a fine line between machining and not machining? You are saying that i wont have to machine? Where can i buy those springs and how much are they. Thanks for the reply.

comp cams says you can use the springs without machining, my machine guy told me why he had to but i forget, is you go to the comp cams site and call the tech line, theyll give you the part number and stuff for them, you can get em from pretty much any performance store and summit will probably even have them, when you see them dont worry they look alot different then normal springs but if you find the article on them itll tell you why. it has to do with lowering mass at the top of the spring to help stop valve bounce and keep the lifter on the cam better.

quite honestly i cant recall but all parts i get are for dealer cost so it would prob be different, i know they are slightly more money i think than normal springs but the reviews ive read, i believe they are worth it, if you call comp cams tech i think they can give you a list price on them
