Car noobie needs some tips
OK, What should I be looking for when I'm buying heads and a cam? I know that unless properly matched the performance wont be as good so how do I match up heads and a cam?
My goal with my car is some where in the neiborhood of 450-500hp at the crank n/a and maintain streetablity and smog-legal in california.

I'm building a 355 next year with stock ported/polished heads and a Comp 230/236 cam with 1.6 rr's. There's alot more, but even with that, I was told to expect around 400 at the wheels. That might give you a better idea of what you need.
this topic has been talked about numerous times, there are probably hundreds of threads about cams and heads. A search is your best option here.
I do know that a high flow head makes less power at lower rpms, so if this thing is a daily driver that may be a factor for ya.

I would also like to know what kind of cams fit in an LT1.

Your best bet would probably be a set of TEA heads or get Lloyd to do a set for you. Then install a hot cam or a CC305 and have it tuned really, really well.
As far as what kind of cams fit into a LT1. Pretty much any hydraulic or solid roller cam for a small block chevy, you just have to have the right dowl pin length. I believe a flat tappet will also fit, but there wouldn't be much point.
Lloyd is a member on this board, do a search and you will see alot of happy customers. TEA is short for Total Engine Airflow, I think you can find a link in the sponsor's page. The CC305 is made by Comp Cams.
