Please help with header install, need all your advice.

Hey guys I am going to install my FLP long tube headers tomorrow, but need your advice on where to start. Do I take off what I can with the car in the ground then jack it up, or do I just put in on jack stands to begin whth.
Then what?

I will also be changing plugs and wires.

I would jack the front end up onto stands and disassemble what you could. In fact, I did my entire swap that way. It is a little easier on the back and the back side of the legs, but I was still sore the next morning. If you practice yoga, then bonus for you Just be prepared to get creative when you are having a hard time accessing some of the bolts. Lots of swivels and extensions will help. Good Luck

I would say start with it jacked up in the air. There is so much that you will need to get at from both sides that you will soon need to get under the car anyway. I had to jack mine up to get the K&N FIPK off, which was close to the first thing that I did.

Your results may vary.

I think i also had trouble getting the first bolt off on the passenger side because of the ac lines or something. I'm pretty sure i used a ratchet with a small extension and a swivel on the end, the hard part is gettin the socket onto the bolt with that setup it took me a while. As far as the bolt in the back i don't think i had any trouble with that one so i don't know what to say. Just try a combination of extensions, deep and shallow sockets, swivels and anything else you have.

Edit - ya you have to pull off the altenator i thought you already did that.

I removed the old y-pipe, the starter, and the alt.

get the back bolt from under the car.

the front one, from the top, I removed the AIR tube also, made it
alot easier. I used a torque wrench a small socket and a swivel
to get to it, that bolt has a nut and the bolt is a stud on mine,
it holds the alt bracket on also.

good luck.
