please help! broke schrader valve.

Im having a pretty bad week. I broke the welds on the base of the schrader valve, and now I need a new fuel rail. Its for a 1995 lt1. I hear the rail is different begining in 1995. I need to know where to get a replacement fuel rail, preferably new, but will take used. also what kind of money am I looking at? I assume I will also need new O rings for the fuel injectors? where to get those? thank you. I did a search but didn't find the answers.

fuel rail

i have a polished fuel rail that i will sell for 50 bucks plus shipping. and you can get the o rings at advance auto or autozone. the only reason im asking that price for the fuel rails is becuase that is what i have in them. they are nice and shiny too!

94 - 97 hardlines and rails are identical. Only the 93 is different.

If you want to buy or sell something.... please use the Marketplace forums. If you see a post in the "tech" forums that you think you may have something to offer, send them a PM.

INJUNEER: how reliable do you think it would be to take that rail to a welding shop and have the welds built up? assuming it was a good welder. I need to add a considerable amount of weight to the schrader valve, 4 fittings to adapt a fuel pressure sending unit, fuel pressure saftey switch and a 4 an line to a fuel solonoid.
are the lines aluminum or steel?

SMO Q:
You might want to use a single ss line from the schrader valve to a fuel distribution block mounted on the fire wall and fit your senders and switches to that.

All I would want is enough to cover shipping... PM me to let me know what you think.

I would definitely weld an NPT or AN bung directly on either fuel rail instead and go from there.

Not sure what "weld" you are asking about. I don't believe the Schrader fitting is even welded on. I believe its swaged. That's why it breaks off with minimal torque. Never hang any appreciable weight off the connection. Use a braided SS line and a fitting somewhere remote, as suggested.

And welding a 1/8" NPT bung directly to the rail solves the prblem. That's where I have my sending unit for my electronic fuel pressure gauge:

Can you be more detailed in exactly where you are mounting this fitting? I have a fitting hooked to the schrader valve which the fuel pressure saftey switch and a hose going to the fuel solonoid are connected to right now, and I would like to eliminate those from the schrader valve. I also need to hook up my fuel pressure sending unit which is what I was trying to do when I broke it. maybe you could put up some more pictures of the set up, if you have the time. also what modifications I would need to make to do this. thanks. will welding an npt bung to the fuel rail be ok to supply a fuel solonoid for a 150 nx shot? or should I continue to run that off the schrader valve?

I looked through your sight but couldn't find a close up pic showing exactly where you placed the bung. thats what Id like to see if you can.
