Most economical choice would be the Keith Black hyper pistons. Lighter than all the forged pistons in their price range. Plenty tough too.

The KB signature series are nice pistons, but if you plan on anything extra ever they will not hold up to too much spray or boost.

Re: piston recomendation?

I ran the KB hypers in a bracket engine with a 150hp shot plate-system for a whole race season without any problems. Refreshed the motor, ~.0003 on the bore with a hone, changed the pins and rod bolts, zygloed the pistons (they were good) and put it back together. Ran it for another season, then found the pin bores had a little elongation. But not bad for that kind of abuse. Car ran very consistent 10 second 1/4's, ~3000 lbs and on a really tight budget build.

So I'd say they can handle a little nitrous if your tune is ok. 150 isn't what I'd call a big shot though.

Thats great, I havent heard alot of people have confidence in them, but I havent heard any bad stories on them either.

About 10 years ago before when they were just Keith Black diamonds series (or whatever) We had a set in a 355 TPI motor the car was putting about 360 hp to the wheels. It ran good for 6 months then it just shattered !!! We tore it down and discovered a bent valve up top and a shattered piston below. The timing chain had come off the cam and held a few valves open one piston was shattered, 6 others had a scuff on them from valves, but no cracks or other signs of destruction to the pistons.
I am using them now in my 383,I was planning on switching to forged later to run a little hose or some very mild boost (5 to 6 psi). I may rethink that if you have this kind of confidence in them Mindgame.
